No school next Monday, January 18^th.  We will have daycare for children with AM or PM care in their program.

Open House for families who are interested in finding out more and enrolling in Montessori for August 2016.  If you know anyone, please let them know, the Open House will be Saturday, January 23^rd from 12 to 2:00 PM.  We will have babysitting available.

Chapstick, cough drops, lotion, etc. – If you send these items, a form must be filled out in the office.   The item is kept and dispensed in the office to prevent sharing.

Preprimary re-enrollment contract due this Thursday, January 14th.

Sibling Enrollment for August 2016– If you need an additional contract for a sibling, who will be three years old and able to use the bathroom on their own, please let anyone in the office know.

The Montessoiree, our annual dinner/auction event, is on Saturday, February 20th at the Old Post Office.  Take advantage of the Early Bird Special—complete your table and purchase 8-10 tickets by January 15 and take $100 off the final price!  Get together with some friends, buy a table for 8 and the cost will be $300 instead of $400!  Ask for the ticket form at the front desk!

Donations for the Montessoiree can be turned into the office and we’ll see PTO gets them.  The earlier, the betterJ  All donations are tax deductible! Once again we’ll be accepting “wine” and related items for the “wine baskets”as well as gift card donations to restaurants, massage, nail packages, , oil changes, etc.

In case we actually have snowy or icy weather, here is our policy (from the handbook).   Note:  “Usually” the first day of bad weather, we will follow EVSC’s decision, but since we are not bus dependent, we will make independent decisions thereafter.

SNOW DAY POLICY

Closings – Montessori Academy will post “no school” announcements on local television stations 14 WFIE and 25 WHET. If you have AM/PM care in your child’s program, you may bring your child for a day care day.

Early Closings – As a rule we do not close early. Parents, of course, should determine their own level of comfort driving and may pick up early if the need arises.  The exception for closing early would be if very extreme/dangerous weather or road conditions developed.  If this should occur we will contact each family by phone.

Delays – We are not bus dependent and do not have delays. School will start at the regular time regardless of what time other schools start their day.

Snow Make-up Days – We do not have snow make-up days.

Building Closure – If a state-of-emergency is declared in Vanderburgh and/or Warrick County Montessori Academy will be closed and will not have school or daycare.

Box Tops Reminder – PTO has a collection box set up for Box Tops in the dining room.  Bring in the Box Tops logo off many of your Thanksgiving (and year round) purchases.

School Pictures for Ms. Sarah and Mrs. Corn tomorrow, Friday, November 13

Digital Copy – The photography company we use for the fall school picture will be offering a digital copy of photos for $10 with the purchase of any print package. The digital copy will be emailed to you along with a release giving permission for it to be printed at a commercial facility.   If you want a digital copy:

1. Write “digital copy” in your (any) package box and add the additional $10 to
2. the total. You will receive the digital copy via e-mail with a release form.
